Dreams of Failure

For about a year now, I have had dreams of past failures.  These dreams have involved almost every aspect of my life.  Often times I wake up feeling depressed.  I know my thought life triggers these dreams, especially ruminations.  These glitches in my thinking are the result of trying to work out the past in my mind to get a different result, as it that were even possible!   I have decided to change, to think differently, which is to think redemptively.

Thinking redemptively acknowledges the past, yet does not try to fix it.  As is often said,   “it is what it is.” What can I learn from them and move on?  How can I relate to others who have had similar experiences?  How has God worked through these circumstances?  How do these “Life Turns” fit into my story?

This is a journey I am looking forward to as I work through the “Creating Your Life Plan” by Donald Miller.  For more information go to http://www.storylineblog.com .

About David Michael Barnett

I am beginning my "senior journey." Although originally, I did not want to be considered a senior, I have gotten comfortable with the idea. Being a senior should be an honor in our culture. We are the ones with wisdom. We also have strengths that may have never been used! I have worked as a salesman, preacher, and teacher (among a few other occupations), and now I am ready to begin the 4th quarter of my life as a Senior Strengths Life Coach and leader in the Christian Senior's Movement. Seniors have so much to give to those who have yet to make the journey. It's time to use our wisdom and experience to make our world a better place. If you are interested in this movement, send me a message and I will add you to Senior Strengths. Continue on my website and you will learn how to discover your strengths and use those strengths to be valuable to your service area!
